« NIght of a thousand stars
» I forgot to mention that I saw "A Very Long Engagement" (directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet) a few weeks ago. J-P J is so definitely the greatest French director of his generation. Personally, I don't think the 80s produced very many good movies: okay, there's like "Star Wars II: It Never Ends" or whatever, but dude, can we all just agree that all things Star Wars suck? Let's just put that one to rest. And then there was like, John Landis, who was pretty good, and all of Spike Lee's best movies. But other than that? Because the 90s and the Noughties have already had so many awes. flicks! Tons of Almodovar, Jeunet and Caro, Todd Solondz, Harmony Korine, etc.! I'm also way excited about Todd Solondz's new movie. But I ALSO heard Roger Ebert has salivary-glad cancer! He's just a shadow of his former self! I'm totally afraid Vincent Gallo really DID put a curse on him! |
